The Brain a Nerve System

What Dr Craig Does

It's the Brains job to keep all of these systems in balance, adapting to the various stresses of life.
It's my job to help it do that.

Step One

STRESS RESPONSE

There are three systems in the body:

1 Control System

This is the Brain and Nervous System.

2.Active System

Your respiration, circulation, elimination, glands, joints and muscles.

3 Passive System

The bones.

If you have issues with one or more of these systems, it's important to measure the Control System. This sounds really obvious but unfortunately often overlooked.

To measure the Brain and Nervous System we study:

The left and right Cerebral Hemispheres and their production of Alpha, Beta, Theta and Delta waves.

The Lymbic Brain and its control of hand temperature, sweat, electrical activity in the muscles, respiration.

We use a Stress - Response Examination. The NeuroInfiniti records the above data as we put you under stress and then allow recovery. This examination shows the at rest brain state and importantly, how the brain responds and recovers to stress.

Step Two

TREATMENT

If the data indicates a normally functioning brain, one that adapts to stress and recovers well, no further action need be taken.

On the other hand the Brain and Nervous System may be out of balance.

It may be locked in an over aroused, "stressed-out" state. This is a state in which the Sympathetic "Fight-Flight" part of the Nervous System is dominant.

Conversely it may be dominated by an under aroused or unstable state. These out of balance states may result in complete exhaustion of the brain. The symptoms of exhaustion manifest as disease in the body - heart disease, cancer, fibromyalgia and asthma to name a few. When disease manifests in the body, we compliment the usual medical diagnoses and treatment with Brain Based Care.

What is Brain Based Care?

The Brain lives inside the 22 bones of the cranium. A common misconception is that the cranium is a rigid fused case. Not so. All the bones of the cranium have joints which articulate with each other. Why? The brain expands and contracts throughout the day. This movement is thought to draw in nutrients and expel wastes. One of the most important nutrients for the brain is oxygen.

The Brain Stem and spinal Cord are also protected by bones. Not only do the bones protect the nervous system. Movement of the joints provides 90% of the energy requirement of the brain.

To encourage correct movement of skull and spine we use the Acu-Stim Instrument with Koren Specific Technique. The corrections are gentle and long lasting.

HOME CARE

Because the way we breath has such a huge impact on our Brain function we often prescribe corrective breathing exercises.

Step Three

RE-EXAMINATION

After a few weeks of care we perform another Stress Response Examination. This second examination tells us the amount of recovery achieved, and helps us fine tune treatment.

The Goal Is Good Brain Balance
